Fall Photo and Video Contest 2013
Show your love of the beautiful fall season on Prince Edward Island by sending us your favourite photos and videos for the Communications PEI 2013 Fall Photo and Video Contest. Fall in Prince Edward Island is jam packed with community activities, culinary adventures, fall foliage, harvested fields and stunning scenery. The contest is an opportunity to show off the unique aspects of Island life this time of year.
Photos and videos will be used for provincial government website content and will also be promoted on provincial government social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Photos must be submitted by mail or email. Hard copies will not be returned.
How to submit video:
Videos must be uploaded to YouTube. Please email the URL link to webcontent@gov.pe.ca. Please include your name, mailing address, name of the person responsible for shooting the video or photo and a description of each shot or clip in your email. Photos and videos must be owned by you, the photographer or videographer.
Contest Guidelines: - Photo submissions should be original and high-quality. (Staff of Communications PEI will edit and optimize photos.) Photos should be saved as JPEG format, preferably with dimensions of roughly 1024 x 768 pixels. The files you send should not contain any superimposed graphics or text and borders should be removed.
- Video length should be no more than 5 minutes. Feel free to edit videos however you wish, with transition effects, captions, and/or music.
- Do not submit any photos of children. If an individual (or group of people) is featured in your video or photo, please obtain permission. If you cannot obtain permission, please ensure that the individual(s) is not recognizable.
- Video submissions through YouTube must include a title, video description and relevant tags. Check out a sample video.
Prizes and Judging:
- The photo or video entry that best displays a Prince Edward Island fall activity, festival or event in a creative and entertaining way will be selected each week. Photos and videos will be judged by staff of Communications PEI.
- Photos and videos must have been shot during the fall months and must not be older than one year (since September 1st, 2012).
- Entries will be judged and winners will be announced every Friday beginning September 13, 2013.
- Prizes will be announced soon.
Submission Criteria:
Photos and videos will be posted to government social media accounts and websites. With regard to any photograph submitted, the owner of the photograph retains copyright. By uploading or submitting any photograph, the owner grants Communications PEI a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the submission, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed for any Government of PEI purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, social media accounts, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Government of PEI publications. Communications PEI will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. Photos and videos published will be credited to you, the photographer or videographer, where possible. Communications PEI reserves the right not to publish submitted photographs and videos, especially if the entry includes inappropriate content.
Responsibility:
The Government of Prince Edward Island cannot be held responsible for entries that are lost, damaged, or delayed during transportation. The Government of Prince Edward Island is not responsible for any failure of the website during this contest. Nor is it responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software or any email, or online entry lost due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website or any combination thereof, including injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or property related to or resulted from playing or downloading any material in the contest.
