For more than half a century the Gold Cup and Saucer Race has stood out as one of the premiere harness racing events in North America, drawing the sport's top horses, drivers and trainers for nine days of elite competition.
Taking place at the legendary Charlottetown Driving Park, the heart of the Island's harness racing industry since 1888, the Gold Cup and Saucer Race is the centrepiece of the annual Old Home Week celebrations.
Each summer the Gold Cup and Saucer Race draws thousands of visitors to Prince Edward Island, the 'Kentucky of Canada', to witness the pageantry of the event and be part of the history and excitement.
