PEI Crime Stoppers
PEI Crime Stoppers began in 1988 and has been growing ever since. Our mandate is: "Work together to solve and prevent crime." Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming two key elements that inhibit community involvement: Fear and Apathy.
PEI Crime Stoppers is not a law enforcement agency nor is it associated to any one enforcement or police service. It is a PEI based non-profit organization, encompassing the community, the media, and law enforcement agencies, established to assist in crime prevention and promotion of safer communities. Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteer community members, the media, and police representatives.
At no time will Crime Stoppers meet the tipster and "ANONYMITY" is guaranteed. If a tip leads to an arrest or criminal charges, a cash reward of up to $2,000 will be paid to the tipster.
Crime Stoppers now has 3 ways to submit a tip:
- Online at www.peicrimestoppers.com
- By phoning 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
- Texting “TIP162" plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES)
