Prince Edward Island Eco-Net de l'ile-du-Prince-Edouard (PEIEN)
The PEI Eco-net is a not-for-profit, non-governmental network of groups on Prince Edward Island who are concerned about the environment in some way. The PEIEN is non-advocacy and thus does not take stands on particular issues. Instead we try to help our member groups with the work they do through the sharing of information and provisions of administrative and technical support. We are affiliated with twelve other environmental networks: a network in each province, one in the Northern territories and a First Nations Environmental Network. We all come together under the Canadian Environmental Network, based in Ottawa, which coordinates the activities of fourteen national caucuses concerned with specific areas of interest. Management of the provincial network policy decisions, and planning fundraising, etc is the responsibility of the Steering Committee, members of which are elected on an annual basis at the provincial annual meeting.
