Measurement Canada

Measurement Canada plays an important role in Industry Canada's marketplace services framework by contributing to consumer, business and investor confidence in the fair and efficient functioning of the marketplace. This is accomplished by administering and enforcing the Electricity and Gas Inspection Act and the Weights and Measures Act through the exclusive constitutional authority of the Government of Canada.

Measurement Canada is best known to the public through its inspectors who perform "initial verifications" and "control inspections" on scales, fuel dispensers, electricity meters, gas meters and more across the country.
