John J. Sark Memorial School
Opened in 1981, John J. Sark Memorial School is a Mi'kmaq elementary school providing grades K-6 education within the Aboriginal community of Lennox Island. The school is operated by the Lennox Island Band Council with assistance from the Government of Canada. The school has no formal affiliation with the provincial Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. When students graduate, they are bused from Lennox Island to Hernewood Intermediate School and Westisle Composite High School to complete grades 7-12.
