The E9-1-1 Service is a vital component in the provision of emergency services in Prince Edward Island. Civic addressing is the backbone of the E9-1-1 Service and as such, must be maintained and updated continually to ensure the service remains effective and efficient.
Individuals, communities and government all share the responsibility of ensuring that community names, road names and civic address number signs are in place to ensure that emergency service responders can find properties in a fast and efficient manner.
How Do I Get A Civic Address
The 911 Administration Office coordinates civic addressing across the Province, and is responsible for assigning and maintaining civic addresses for areas of the Province outside of the 17 municipalities, which are responsible for their own civic addressing.
The 17 municipalities responsible for their own civic addressing are: Charlottetown, Summerside, Stratford, Alberton, Borden-Carleton, Brackley, Cornwall, Georgetown, Kensington,Kinkora, Miscouche, Montague, O'Leary, Souris, Tignish, Victoria, and Wellington.
If you are in one of these municipalities, please contact the municipal administrator for your civic address.
If you do not live in one of these municipalities, contact our 911 Administration Office to obtain your civic address.
