Business Practices Act

The Business Practices Act is a guideline towards a code of ethical behaviour with legal consequences. It recognizes unfair business practices and maintains a reasonable standard of conduct when selling goods and services on Prince Edward Island.

Businesses benefit by the Business Practices Act because they no longer have to compete against certain unfair business practices by their competitors. This Act applies to all consumers who purchase personal or household products and services but it does not apply to individuals acting in the course of doing business or trading securities as defined in the Securities Act.
