Policing Services

Policing Services Section is responsible for the administration of the Police Act and for liaising with all police agencies toward the implementation of effective and efficient policing services in PEI, as follows:

  • Administers the Police Act and Regulations;
  • Develops policing policy for the Province, coordinates police training on new federal initiatives, and contributes to national policing policy;
  • Administers High Risk Offenders Advisory Group;
  • Serves as OAG liaison for Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) criminal justice officials committees and working groups;
  • Provides consultation on crime prevention/community safety;
  • Provides consultation to community and government agencies; and
  • Encourages community involvement in justice issues.
