Municipalities and Businesses
The local authority (municipality, organization, business, etc.) is expected to manage an emergency or disaster within its jurisdiction. If the demands exceed a local authority’s resources, nearby communities may provide additional resources or personnel through formal or informal mutual aid agreements. The Provincial government can assist when requested by the local authority, when an emergency clearly impacts on areas of provincial jurisdiction, or in a province-wide event.
