Business Registration - Extra-Provincial Corporations

A corporation incorporated elsewhere must be registered by the Government of Prince Edward Island to carry out business in Prince Edward Island.


Submit a completed EXTRA-PROVINCIAL Corporations Registration application and the required fee in person or by mail to the address below.

The application form requires the name of the corporation, its mailing address, head office address, local address in PEI. (if any), the nature of its business and its jurisdiction of incorporation. Extra-provincial firms carrying out business in Prince Edward Island must register under the Extra-Provincial Corporations Registration Act regardless of whether or not branches or employees are located in the province.


The minimum fee is $250 and can vary up to $1,500 depending on the nature of business being conducted in the province.

Extra provincial corporations are required to renew registration on a yearly basis.
