Positive Parenting From Two Homes for Kids

Positive Parenting From Two Homes for Kids is a school-based program for children experiencing changes in their lives as a result of parental separation, divorce, or parenting from two homes. Trained facilitators collaborate with school guidance counsellors to provide information through age-related activities and discussions. The program, delivered in five one-hour sessions, provides an opportunity for children to talk with other children going through similar situations.

Topics discussed at the sessions include:

  • definition of family
  • changes that separation and divorce bring to a family
  • how these changes affect children
  • children's concerns about how the parents separating or divorcing will affect their future
  • ideas on how to help children talk with Mom and Dad

Please contact your child’s school guidance counsellor for further information and registration.
