As a result of the report of the Commission on Land and Local Governance - New Foundations, the Environmental Advisory Council was asked to assist in the review of all available information on the present status of our Island environment, with a view to developing a sistainable future for our province.
This Foundation Document is meant to be an interim step in the creation of a sustainable development strategy – to support discussion of what is working and what needs to be done better. It provides both historical background and current context, and it presents some of the critical issues facing Islanders. |
