This Division serves as a resource to the Office of the Attorney General in the areas of policy advice and development, federal/provincial/territorial relations, and community and social development.

Justice Resource Service
WHAT WE DO
The Justice Resource Service mandate is to encourage community involvement in justice issues with an emphasis on supporting community and social development. We provide consultation, information sharing, co-ordination and other support to government and community organizations on various initiatives that focus on community safety and well being. We work with many groups including the PEI Partners for Community Safety.

Policing Services
WHAT WE DO
This section is responsible for the administration of the Police Act and for liaising with all police agencies toward the implementation of effective and efficient policing services in PEI. This function is accomplished through collaboration with police services in the development of service standards for policing, monitoring compliance with service standards and facilitating the refinement and development of legislation and policy which enhances the capability and responsiveness of police services.

Access and Privacy Services
WHAT WE DO
We provide government-wide policy advice and support regarding the operation of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) Act, regulations, policies and procedures. We assist FOIPP coordinators in each public body with training, advice and we coordinate the operation of the FOIPP Act within the Department of Justice and Public Safety.
