Bereavement Leave

For purposes of "bereavement leave":

Immediate family includes spouse, child, parent, brother or sister of the employee. 

Extended family includes grandparent, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law or daughter-in-law, aunt or uncle of the employee. 

An employee will be entitled to one day of paid bereavement leave and up to two additional days of unpaid bereavement leave on the death of a member of the employee's immediate family.

An employee will be entitled to up to three unpaid days of bereavement leave on the death of a member of the employee's extended family.
