This series shows two scenarios: the current situation in terms of where development is located, and also a future scenario of what the landscape might look like if all vacant lots were developed.
A vacant lot in this case has no civic address, is between 0.15 & 5.0 acres in size, is not located in wetlands, and is not tax exempt (owned by Maritime Electric, a school, hospital, wildlife management group, etc.)
Many of these lots have been subdivided for decades and have not been sold or developed. There are around 30 000 undeveloped lots across P.E.I.
Current development (as of 2010) is shown with a blue house, while the vacant lots have a red house added.
