Pilot project allows forest harvesting in buffer zones

Using forest management plans to maintain buffer zones helps protect watercourses and wetlands.

Permits for harvesting wood in buffer zones can now be provided when harvesters are licensed and an approved forest management plan is followed.

This past fall, the Premier’s Action Committee on Family Violence Prevention Youth Engagement Working Group invited Island students in grades 4-6 and 7-9 to submit a storyboard based on the theme of healthy relationships.

During his visit, Consul General Riley will travel across Prince Edward Island from North Cape to Morell. Mr. Riley will tour several Island businesses including Vector Aerospace, 3 Points Aviation, Prince Edward Aqua Farms and PEI Mussel King.
