Q: What kind of insulation can I use to insulate my house?

A: The type of insulation is not stipulated in the Provincial or Federal grant or loan programs, just the minimum r-values.  How much of a particular type of insulation is required to achieve that r-value can be calculated using the NRC recognized r-values listed in the CCMC registry.

Q: I own more than one residential property can I put them through the Audit Assistance and Loan/Grant programs?

A: If you own more than one property and are in the low income category, you may choose one household to receive the low income audit assistance and 0% loan program.  If you additional property(s) are rental properties (i.e. they are a primary residence for a household) they may be eligible for the regular income audit assistance and 6% loan or 15% grant programs.  If the additional property(s) are not rental units, or are seasonal rental units only they would not be eligible for any provincial energy efficiency programs. (i.e. cottages, vacant houses, investment properties, etc...)
