Welcome to my website.
It is a privilege and honour to serve as Prince Edward Island’s fortieth Lieutenant Governor and to be the representative of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, in this province.
In addition to my constitutional role, I attend numerous ceremonial, official and community functions, both at Government House and across the province. I love to celebrate with Islanders everything that makes us special – our heritage, our spirit and pride. It is very important to me to create new opportunities to welcome people at Fanningbank.
Four key areas of focus during my time in office are:
The Arts
Because of my own background in classical music, I want to make Fanningbank a showcase for the artistic expression of talented Islanders.
Multiculturalism
I want to encourage understanding between peoples of different cultures so that all our lives can be enriched through “sharing our stories”.
Youth
New connections need to be made between young Islanders and this office. Through school visits and Government House tours, I hope to promote awareness of the role of Lieutenant Governors within Canada’s democracy.
Seniors
Our seniors helped make our province and our country what it is today. I hope to spend some special time with them during my term and know I will receive inspiration from their experience and wisdom.
