Helen Bayfield, ca. 186?

Helen Bayfield's album, known as the DuVernet Album (so named after its donor, Mrs. Alice DuVernet, a Bayfield descendant) consists of over 300 images, presumably dated before Helen's death in 1867. While only two of the photographs are signed by Henry Cundall, an examination of his diaries, which span 1854 through 1909, indicate that many of the images in the album can be attributed to him. This portrait of Helen Bayfield was taken by Notman studios of Montreal.
