Interior North Wiltshire Train Station, 1912

The original PEIR only had 12 “way” or “crossing” stations spread out along the line. These stations consisted of a large platform, a waiting room, a ticket office and freight storage. These stations were more spacious then flag stops, but not as grand as terminal stations. The interior of the way station at North Wiltshire shows a local resident and PEIR employee, Anthony Clarkin, enjoying the homey atmosphere of the PEIR office.
