Park Island Black Silver Foxes Ltd., The Holman Ranch, ca. 1920

Robert Oulton (1835-1920), one of the founders of the Prince Edward Island fox farming industry, realized that foxes were best raised in an environment that resembled their natural surroundings. Upon this discovery, many fox ranches including Mr. H.T. Holman''s ranch, shown here, were established in wooded areas. Holman raised foxes for a number of years and was president of the Park Island Black Silver Foxes Ltd.
