P.E.I. Little Theatre Guild, 1937

The Little Theatre Guild was organized in 1935 when 2 one act plays were performed to an enthusiastic audience. In 1937, the Guild competed in the Dominion Drama Festival in Ottawa. On board the ferry Charlottetown are Little Theatre members George Hart, Ivan Reddin, Esther Rattenbury, (?) Simpson, Charles Jenkins, and Harry Foster. After a hiatus during the war years, the Guild was reorganized in 1947 and by 1951 there were over 300 members. The Guild staged 4 or 5 studio performances for members per year and at least one major public performance.
