Established in 1993 with a three-year grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada, with subsequent five-year funding from the Macdonald Stewart Foundation and funding from Leadership Sponsor Aliant, the L.M. Montgomery Institute hosts events and projects that bring together those who wish to learn more about Montgomery's works, life, culture, and influence. The Institute is located on the University of Prince Edward Island campus in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

This CD-ROM contains 342 nodes of multimedia presentation including video and audio interviews, websites, narrative, photographs and text about the life, works, and impact of L. M. Montgomery, author of "Anne of Green Gables" and other novels and poetry. The disk also includes a bibliography of sources of information about the author as well as locations where manuscripts, substantial collections of her works, and artifacts can be found.
