Historique

The Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, branch of the Canadian Federation of University Women was organized in March of 1955. Doris Anderson served as its first president. This organization was formed to maintain a high standard of public education in Canada and to improve the status of women through education and public involvement. The Charlottetown branch has undertaken regular meetings, the development and administration of the Frieda Creelman Memorial and the Margaret MacMillan-Pratt scholarships and an annual book fair. The membership have also organized and participated in conferences and seminars and prepared briefs on educational and women's issues.
