This subseries consists of 3 volumes which document Casual Interest paid on warrants which were not paid at the Treasury on demand. When the payment of any warrant on the Treasury was demanded and could not be paid by the Treasurer for want of funds, the Treasurer placed a memorandum on the Warrant that such a demand had been made and that interest would be paid on the warrant when it was finally paid to the individual. The transactions are recorded by date and include the following information: a note indicating the amount is to be paid on a warrant, the number of the warrant, the amount of the warrant, the date the warrant was issued and its maturity date, the amount of interest paid, and the name of the individual from whom the warrant was received. Notations on some of the pages indicate that the totals were carried to the ledgers.
