The East Bideford Women's Institute was organized in East Bideford, Prince Edward Island, by a group of local women on 29 August 1944 at the East Bideford School, Prince Edward Island. The first president was Miss Eva Murphy. The Institute focused its efforts on supporting the local school. The Institute also contributed to various charitable causes including the war effort, Cancer Drive, Prince County Hospital, Salvation Army, Red Cross, and March of Dimes.
