Biographical history
Emily Stephen Stewart was born 28 October 1849 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to Robert Bruce Stewart, Sr. and Helen Stewart Birnie. The family of nine children lived in Charlottetown until 1863, when Robert Bruce moved the family to a country estate called Strathgartney on the Stewart property in Lot 30. Emily Stewart married Daniel Davies of Charlottetown on the 18 May 1891.

This fonds consists of two volumes of musical scores belonging to Emily Stewart Davies of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. One bound volume is a published collection of musical scores (ca. 1830), while the second volume is a musical exercise or copy book of musical scores (post 1830).
