Dr. George Archibald Cook McIntosh was born on 17 December 1843 in New London, Prince Edward Island, to George McIntosh and Caroline McKay. He attended school in Stanley Bridge, going on to Trinity College and the University of Pennsylvania. He married Mary Annie Kirkland of Rexton, New Brunswick, with whom he had at least two children, George and Carrie. Dr. MacIntosh began working in Murray River in 1875, setting up a practice out of his house. He retired from his practice around 1905 and died in June 1907. He is buried in New London (Lot 21) with his infant son George.
