Scope and content

This series is composed of the official and draft minutes of the daily activities of the sessions of the Court of Chancery both in the Rolls Court and the Vice-Chancellor's Court. The official minute books are indexed and refer to the case by number allowing access to the case files in Series 2. The series also contains 4 volumes of orders and commissions which are the rulings of the Court on petitions, bills of complaint, etc., brought by the plaintiffs or defendants on issues arising out of the case in process. It has been divided into the following subseries:

Subseries1: Minutes (1793-1943)
Subseries2: Rough minutes (1851-1973)
