History
Frederick Peter Norton took over the family farm in the early 1850s and opened a store in Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, at the corner of Kent and Water Streets. He was also an auctioneer and served as High Sheriff for Kings County and as a Justice of the Peace. He married Ann “Rosina” Davis, whose father James owned Charlottetown’s Osborne House (later named the Victoria Hotel). Frederick and his wife had at least six children. Frederick Peter Norton died at age 48, after suffering a heart attack while walking home to Brudenell from Georgetown.
