Administrative history

Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Georgetown, Prince Edward Islands was built in the early 1840's and was ready for consecration by 1843. Previous to that date religious services were held in the Court House and the congregation was ministered to by Rev. Charles Lloyd of Milton. The first resident clergyman was Frederick Downes Panter who served the parish from 1842-1845. He also held the Cherry Valley Charge. Between 1856 and 1866 Rev. Robert T. Roach was the rector for Holy Trinity but also held services at Cardigan, Mt. Stewart, and Murray Harbour. In the absence of the clergyman on Sundays and holy days, services were conducted by layreader James Easton who also was headmaster of the Church's Glebe School from 1847-1903. The church appears to have closed in 1993.
