Series includes materials relating to the donation, by Lillian Duchemin and her sister Mrs. Helen Loughlin, of the restored 1840 Watson Duchemin pipe organ to the University of Prince Edward Island in 1983. Watson Duchemin (1797-1872) was the great grandfather of Lillian Duchemin. Series includes press items regarding the donation and inaugural recital, an address re Watson Duchemin by Dr. Alan Reesor, invitation lists and replies to invitations. Series also includes song sheets authored by S. F. Duchemin ca. 1870, a letter dated 1899 from Alfred Riggs to Bessie Carter (Lilliam Duchemin's mother), and three publications formerly in the possession of the Duchemin family: The annual register or a view of the history politicks, literature for the year 1766, The Island minstrel: a collection of the poetical writings of John LePage (1860) and The Island minstrel: a collection of the poetical writings of John LePage, Vol. II (1867) by John LePage. The series also includes materials regarding a CBC film production of Room of Destiny based on the Fathers of Confederation for which Lillian Duchemin worked as an assistant in 1960, and some miscellaneous theatre programs, invitations and correspondence dating 1952-1981.
