At an organizing meeting on 23 November 1925, the congregation decided to call the Church the United Church of Tyne Valley and elected a Board of Managers. The Church itself, which was purchased from the Baptist Church in 1925 and renovated had been built in the early 1900s. Further extensive renovations were undertaken in 1983.
