Volunteer RecognitionVolunteers are the foundation of the 4-H program, and recognition of 4-H Volunteers is an important aspect of the organization. 4-H PEI is proud to celebrate and present the following 4-H PEI leader recognition pieces:
Women in Agriculture Leader Recognition Award
PEI Women in Agriculture have an annual 4-H Leader Recognition Award, which is presented at the Annual 4-H Awards Banquet each February. The purpose of the award is to recognize a leader who has made a significant contribution to the 4-H program. Selection will be based on the leader's contribution, support and leadership to the 4-H organization during the previous 4-H year.
Your 4-H club is invited to nominate a leader or leaders from your 4-H club. The entire selection process is based on what you write on the nomination form, so please give as much detail as possible. The judging panel will not include 4-H staff, so do not assume the judges know the nominated leader(s).
CIBC 4-H National Volunteer Leader of the Year Award
Initiated to recognize volunteerism during the United Nations International Year of the Volunteer in 2001, this Award allows club members the opportunity to recognize the many special qualities of their leaders. A provincial leader is selected from the applications submitted from each province and awarded $100. From the 10 provincial leaders, a national leader is chosen who will receive a $2,000 award and a trip to the 4-H Canada Annual General Meeting held in May of the following year.
Members can nominate their leader by filling out an application form (see the link below). Each application requires three member nominators, information about their leader, a description of why the leader deserves to win and information about how you feel the leader has made your community a better place.
Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, December 18, 2013.
