Send us your Island photographs...

ALTHOUGH WE HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL collection of photographs and aerial photos of the Prince Edward Island communities, we are always working to increase the coverage and variety of our collection.


We welcome submissions of photographs for possible inclusion on our website. Please keep in mind the following:

  • you must have taken the photographs yourself
  • we're looking for pictures of landmarks, geographic features, scenic vistas, and other features of the Island
  • we're not looking for pictures of people in them (i.e. family photos), as this raises too many issues of permissions, etc

  • we welcome photos of businesses, but limit these to one photo per business location (choose your best one!)
  • we reserve the right not to include your photographs, and once you send us photographs, we reserve the right to use them for whatever purposes we choose on the Government of PEI website.
  • you won't receive any compensation
  • you will retain copyright
  • we will credit you as the photographer

Here's what you need to do:

Sending Digital Photographs

If you want to send us digital photographs that you have taken with a digital camera, or scanned yourself from prints or slides, you can email them to us at www@gov.pe.ca. Attach each photo to a separate email message, and include in the text of the email message the location of the photo, a short description of the photo and the name of the photographer.

Digital files must be smaller than 4MB each, and should be saved as medium-quality JPEG files, preferably with dimensions of roughly 1024 x 768 pixels. The files you send should not contain any text or other graphics superimposed on them, and should be cropped so that any borders are removed.
