The official history of the geographic name Mount Pleasant (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Mount Pleasant (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Confirmed 3 December 1946 on 21I/9.Status changed to Locality when Mount Pleasant became part of the Community of Lady Slipper in 1983. "Name selected at a public meeting on 1 November 1862 from 'the mutual accord and agreeableness of the inhabitants with each other'."- PN of PEI, 1925.
