Wood Islands East (Sett.) was adopted 25 April 1946 on 11L/2. Confirmed 8 November 1948 on c. 4404.Status changed to Locality in 1960 Gazetteer.Name changed to Wood Islands (Sett.) 21 November 1966 on 11E/15. Wood Islands North (Sett.) was adopted 6 May 1947 on C. 4405 at 46 00 -62 46.Status changed to Post Office in 1960 Gazetteer. Name changed to Wood Islands (Sett.) and moved to 45 59 - 62 45 (as shown on 11E/15, ed. 2) 4 January 1967 on 11E/15. Application of Wood Islands (Sett.) was altered 18 January 1972 on 11E/15 to 45 58 - 62 45.Status changed to Locality when Wood Islands became part of the Community of Belfast in 1972.
