The official history of the geographic name Abrams Village (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Abram Village (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Changed to Abram s Village (Sett.) 2 August 1944 on 11L/5.Status changed to Hamlet in 1960 Gaze tteer.Incorporated as a Community in 1974. Named after Abraham Arsenault, the first settler who came to the township in the 1820s - Place Names of PEI, 1925.
