The official history of the geographic name Argyle Provincial Park (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Argyle Shore Provincial Park was adopted 26 January 1972 on 11L/3. Changed to Argyle Provincial Park 12 December 1989 on file 203-8. The park opened in 1961 and was designated 15 March 1967 and is 9.59 ha.
