History of the Name

The official history of the geographic name Eldon (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):

Eldon (Village) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Changed to Eldon (Belfa st P.O.)(Village) 6 May 1947 on C.4405. Status changed to Hamlet in 1960 Gazette er.Status changed to Locality when Eldon (Belfast P.O.) became part of the Com munity of Belfast in 1972.
