History of the Name

The official history of the geographic name Northport (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):

The Community of Northport was incorporated in 1974. Dissolved in 1990. Name rescinded 17 June 1996 on 21 I/16. Contained the Locality of Alberton South when it was a Community.
