| History of the Name |
The official history of the geographic name Beach Point (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
So named because of the sandy beach at the mouth of the h arbour, where the post office was first located. (Postmas ter, 1905). Beach Point (Sett.) was adopted 25 April 1946 on 11L/2. Confirmed 8 November 1948 on c. 4404.Confirmed again 7 July 1949 on c. 4420.Status changed to Locality 23 October 1989 on 203-8.
