Bethel (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Status changed to Locality 14 September 1966 on 11L/2.Confirmed 23 October 1989 on 203-8. Named by James Douglass, who used to teach Sunday school in the old schoolhouse.Appeared in Meacham's 1880 atlas - PN of PEI, 1925
