The official history of the geographic name Conway (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Conway (Sett., P.O.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Name changed to Conway Station (Sett.) 2 August 1944 on 11L/12. Status changed to Hamlet in 1960 Gazetteer.Name changed to Locality in 1982 when Conway became part of the Community of Lot 11 and Area. After Field Marshall the Rt. Honourable Henry Seymour Conway, Secetary of State 1765-6.- PN of PEI, 1925.
