Corranban (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Name changed to Corranban Bridge (Sett.) 12 December 1939 on 11L/6. Name changed to Corran Ban 25 October 1966 on 11L/6h.Status changed to Locality when Corran Ban became part of the Community of Grand Tracadie in 1984. See Corraban for origin.
