History of the Name

The official history of the geographic name DeBlois (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):

DeBlois (Ry. Sta.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Change to De Blois (Sett.) 3 December 1946 on 21I/16.Changed to DeBlois (Sta.) 5 May 1960 on 21I/16.Status changed to Locality 23 October 1989 on 203-8. Named after George W. DeBlois, Charlottetown, land agent for the locality about 1885.
