The official history of the geographic name Dingwells Mills (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Dingwell (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Changed to Dingwell Mills (Sett.) 7 January 1947 on 11L/8.Name changed to Dingwells Mills (Loc.) 5 May 1960 on 11L/8. Status confirmed as Locality when Dingwells Mills became part of the Community of Central Kings in 1975. At the 1798 census, William Dingwell was the head of a family in this lot (56). - PN of PEI, 1925
