Gladstone (P.O.) was open frm 1 May 1907 to 1 October 1915. Gladstone (Sett.) was adopted 25 April 1946 on 11L/2 at 46 01 - 62 32.Status changed to Locality in 1960 Gazetteer. Application altered 17 January 1972 on 11L/2 to 46 01 - 62 34. Status confirmed as a Locality 23 October 1989 on 203-8. "May be after Rt. Hon. W.E. Gladstone (1809-1898), British statesman." - PN of PEI, 1925.
