The official history of the geographic name Johnstons River (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Johnston River (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Changed to Johnstons River 3 December 1946 on 11L/7.Name changed to Donagh (Loc.) 24 November 1966 on 11L/7.P.O. closed 30 April 45 (Johnstons River).
